Extension of the Bystrc – Kamechy tramline

Description of built structures:An approximately 1.4 km long extension of the existing tramline from today’s Ečerova terminal station in Brno – Bystrc to the Kamechy housing estate. The construction includes the three tram stops Ruda, Říčanská, Kamechy, the Kamechy tunnel with a 320.0 m long double-track tramline, modifications to the affected roads, bridges, relocations of utility networks and other investments induced by the construction.

Construction technology:

Kamechy Tunnel:

– a 40.0 m long cut-and-cover tunnel on the Bystrc side, with an arched tunnel profile, made up of individual reinforced concrete profiles on reinforced concrete strip foundations, the tunnel structure will be protected by waterproofing

– a 245.0 m long mined tunnel, excavation area of approx. 74.0 m2, driven using the NATM – mechanical disintegration using a tunnel excavator, blasting operations are planned for some sections, the primary lining will be made of bolts, shotcrete and reinforcing meshes, the secondary lining will be made of plain concrete, in certain parts of reinforced concrete, protected against groundwater by intermediate layer foil insulation

– a 35.0 m long cut-and-cover tunnel on the Žebětín side, with an arched tunnel profile, made up of individual reinforced concrete profiles on reinforced concrete strip foundations, the tunnel structure will be protected by waterproofing.
